I don't know HOW this family found me...one of those things I've been meaning to ask them, just keep forgetting. However it happened, I'm so glad it DID! I had a RIOT with them and I hope they had some fun, too.

These 2 little kids were so darling... I kept asking if I could just take them home with me.

Instead of saying "CHEESE" for a picture, the little girl would yell out... in her darling 4-year-old accent... "PRINCESS CINDERELLA!" It was like MAGIC! She wasn't the only one smiling... she got her entire FAMILY grinning and giggling. I think I was laughing the hardest.

That was a fun day. I hope to see the Harris' again sometime... I've actually invited myself to their family parties, so I'm sure we'll play again soon. ;)

Those of you that know me, know I like to spend some time at the gym... GOLD'S GYM in Layton. If you're around, stop on by... I'll probably be there! The #1 favorite reason I work out there are the people. I have made SOOOOO many friends... a lot of whom I consider FAMILY. One of my very best gym-family friends is MICHELE... the sweetest, most thoughtful person on God's green earth. I love her like a sister!

SO... if Michele is my sister, that makes Jentry my niece.

Jentry and Brett got sealed in the temple last week, and asked me to take a few pics for them. Aren't they so cute?

Since I am a NEW aunt to them, I have just started my quest to teach them the evils of that
school down south... they just don't know better. Yes, Brett and Jentry do look ok in blue, but I think they'd look much cuter in RED!

Generation Pics...

A few weeks ago, I had the rare... BUT SPECIAL... task of photographing 4 beautiful ladies. I'm sure there's a name for this type of picture... GENERATION PICTURE, maybe? I like the sound of that... let's call it that. It was a shoot of a MOTHER, her DAUGHTER, her GRAND-DAUGHTER, and her GREAT-GRAND-DAUGHTER... a Generation Picture. Well, I'm going to be honest... we did a few posed pictures infront of a fireplace and I thought I'd be able to PHOTOSHOP the gigantic TV out. I'm pretty good at PhotoShop, but I can't work miracles, I guess. Anyway, I've scheduled a re-take for the POSED pictures. (I was pretty embarassed about that... but I figured I would have been MORE embarassed if I had handed them crappy looking pictures! SO, I swallowed my pride and you'll see their re-takes next month.)

HERE is the FUN part of the photoshoot... the part that I'm pretty excited about. I took pictures of them making SUGAR COOKIES!! Here are a few of my faves...

I had a lot of fun the other day shooting the Shrader Family! They were so easy going... my only request from them was to make sure they look skinny. (Don't need help from ME, sister!) I thought they looked FANTASTIC! and even though the bright leaves are about gone, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors in these fall pictures. Check 'em out...

I got an email the other day from one of my most FAVORITE people EVER... my dear friend, Sarah. I've known Sarah since French class in 8th grade (16 years?!), where we stapled licorice to the wall, wrote our own alphabet and constantly quoted the movie HOT SHOTS. Needless to say, we laughed a LOT in that class. I remember SEVERAL times I laughed until TEARS flowed down my face... then I'd get my name on the board. It was WORTH it...we had an absolute BLAST! I will write the rest of this post in the FRENCH I learned in that class.

Oh my goodness... when we were setting up our picture, this old man came down to the family and told them to have their kids stand on him! WHAT?!!! I'm sure Tim and Michelle would LOVE to have a gigantic 16x20 picture framed and hanging on their living room wall with their entire family looking so lovely and happy... but when you look a little closer you see a strange old man lying down underneath the kids' feet! "No thanks", we politely said. I took a picture, because I know no one would believe me if I told them!

Every year we find ourselves at the Oakley Rodeo. And the last couple of years, I've been bringing my camera... trying to get a cool, rugged, cowboy picture that I'd want on my wall. I don't know if I've gotten there yet... but I'm closer, for sure!

If you havn't noticed, I don't waste my time with the lame part of the rodeo. The part where they lasso baby cows and tie their legs together. I don't waste my time with the chicks riding sparkly horses around barrels, either. No, sir... I go for the extreme sports. Give me broncs and bulls, baby!

This next one's my favorite, for some reason...not wall worthy, but I like looking at it.

A couple weeks ago, we went up to the Hill AirForce Museum with my sweet grandparents... "Marme" and "Par". My grandpa, Par, flew in the AirForce for many years and knew something about all the different planes we saw there. I love listening to his stories... what an incredible life he had. He is an incredible man, and I love him very very much. Par is in his 80's now... can't always hear... hurts to walk sometimes... just slowing down a little. I HATE it! I'm greatful for the couple hours he gave to us... so that we could just BE with him. I'm so glad I have a couple pictures of him with MY kids... his GREAT-grand kids.

This next picture is of Par's type of PLANE he flew most of the time. Only his was named "Happy Bottom"... after Marme...my grandma... her REAL name is Gladys.

(get it... GLAD-A_ _ = Happy Bottom. Silly Par.) Check this out... I told him I wanted a picture of him in front of his plane and so he lifted up the rope and started to walk back. The guard standing there said, "Sir, you cannot come back here." and Par says, "Listen, I've flown in that plane for 1000 plus hours... I've earned the right to go back there." The guard stepped aside and said, "Yes, sir, you have. Come on back."

PS... I can't figure out why it CROPPING off the right side on the last two pictures. CRAP! I'll have to try to speak HTML again.

Welcome to my NEW BLOG!! Phew... setting these babies up are not easy for me. (HTML... are you serious? Why doesn't anyone in COMPUTER-LAND speak english?!) I'm very excited... I've figured out how to make pictures BIG on the blog, and a little higher resolution than my previous blog. And it only took me about 132 hours! :) I'm still learning and playing, so don't be surprised if you log on and everything is in Eskimo or something.

On my new blog, I'm going to post an occasional quote or thought accompanied by a picture. I'll try to get at least ONE a week... but we'll see how it goes. Here's the first... I thought it was a very FITTING quote for my first post as a professional photographer.
